Underhood
A consumer OBD2 app that connects to the vehicle over Bluetooth and walks a driver through a conversational diagnostic intake before they ever reach a shop. Plain-language answers, powered by real diagnostic logic.
Seventeen years diagnosing what's wrong under the hood. Now I build the AI tools and training that make other technicians sharper.
I spent seventeen years diagnosing vehicles for a living, the kind of work where a wrong guess costs a customer real money and a right one comes from reading the evidence, not the parts cannon. That habit of thinking is the whole point of everything I build now.
Today I turn that field knowledge into software, training, and AI-powered products across two ventures. Proformance AI is the professional lane, grant-backed AI product development, measured and credible. Fulcrum is where I ship consumer apps that solve a problem without fluff.
I'm a plan-first builder. Map the skeleton, keep a known-good state, add one feature at a time until it's clean. Nothing leaves my hands rough. I'll tell you what I know plainly, and I'll tell you just as plainly when I don't.
Every project starts from the same place: real diagnostic experience, translated into something people can use.
Grant-backed, professional AI products built on real domain depth. Thoughtful and deliberate, the thinker behind the curtain.
Android and web apps that know what the user needs and how it solves their problem. Confident, direct, no hedging.
Full course builds for adult technicians: objectives, labs, assessments, facilitator guides. ADDIE process, Mager model, field-tested delivery.
Diagnostic training and reference software, plus consumer apps for the people who actually turn the wrenches.
A consumer OBD2 app that connects to the vehicle over Bluetooth and walks a driver through a conversational diagnostic intake before they ever reach a shop. Plain-language answers, powered by real diagnostic logic.
A Duolingo-style study app for the ASE certification path, aimed at entry-level technicians and students. Short study loops, an AI tutor, and a track that ships one certification path end to end.
An AI-graded diagnostic training and assessment tool. Learners work timed scenarios, write the repair-order concern, cause, and correction, and get scored against a rubric with targeted study feedback. Instructor dashboard and topic knowledge base included.
A case-based simulator that trains how technicians think, not just what the answer is. Each case runs from evidence and live data through branching decisions and a controlled experiment to a final diagnosis, scored on reasoning, efficiency, and confidence calibration. Case builder and leaderboard built in.
A searchable digital service-manual platform. Pick a vehicle, navigate a structured content tree, and pull the exact procedure, with global search across every vehicle in the library. Built to put reference information at a tech's fingertips.
Additional AI product work is in progress, including a Meta Smart Glasses project. Details shared as they're ready to show.
Ask me about itThe apps are new. The knowledge underneath them is not.
Seventeen years of professional, hands-on diagnostic work. Evidence-first troubleshooting across electrical, fuel, engine, and chassis systems, the foundation every tool I build is measured against.
Corporate learning design in the automotive and utility space, plus college automotive curriculum at GBCC. Objectives, labs, and assessments built on the ADDIE process and the Mager model, for mixed-experience adult learners.
Turning field expertise into shipped software: Android and web apps, AI-assisted diagnostics and training, and the judgment to know when the machine should defer to the human.
Whether it's diagnostics, training, or an AI product idea, I'm always up for a good problem. Drop me a line.
